About EQIP

EQIP (Education Queensland & Industry Partnership) Gladstone overarches four successful programs that have been operating for up to nine years, and provide work ready students for employers. The four programs were developed from partnerships between the three State High Schools, local businesses and industries in Gladstone. Students undertake part of their schooling on site of big industry and/or with local employers.

The four programs on offer to students are:

All students undergo an industry site induction, must comply with industry work place health and safety standards (including random drug and alcohol testing) and work experience with local employers.  These programs are nationally unique and combining them under the one banner (EQIP Gladstone) is certainly a first.

The transtion rate of students from these programs into full time work (apprenticeship or traineeships) or study (university) is very high with many local businesses, employers and industries having a high regard for the graduates.  Some students transition into full time apprenticeships, prior to graduating Year 12 as employers value the students skills, ability and commitment to the profession.  In these cases the students are keen to persue their career full time and successfully make the transition into the full time workforce.

Overall, the benefits are to students, employers and ultimately the wider community.  Contact us to find out more.
